Anxiety and Stress

Anxiety & Stress

Anxiety is the most common mental health condition in Australia. On average, one in four people – one in three women and one in five men – will experience anxiety at some stage in their life. In 12 months, over two million Australians experience anxiety.  * statistics sourced from Beyondblue.

Anxiety is more than just feeling stressed or worried. When we are under pressure, it is a universal human response for us to feel stress or anxious.  Usually, however, these feelings and physical reactions dissipate when the stressful situation has passed.  Our mental health is impacted when this does not occur.

Through a continuum is how mental health is observed.  Personal, life and world events can cause us to move along from healthy functioning to illness.  Early intervention is vital.
