Job Loss & Unemployment
The threat of job loss or unemployment can be extremely stressful. An individual’s employment can often be linked to their self-esteem and purpose in life. Unemployment not only puts great strains on individual and families financial well-being, it is also often linked to other significant issues such as family violence, depression and drug and alcohol abuse.
During this difficult time, it is important that we prioritize our wellbeing. Prioritizing our wellbeing can look like:
Talking about the situation with family and friends
Trying to limit alcohol and substances
Consider what information you are consuming and how it might be affecting you.
Be patient with yourself.
If you ever find yourself in this position, you are not alone and there is support.
